Multi talented local artist Elliot Mason’s artwork is a stylised representation of the natural world. Simple motifs are derived from organic and geometric forms and developed into rhythmic patterns, contoured over blended colour gradients that represent the land, waves, clouds and flora and fauna.
Elliot’s work has an environmental motivation. Seldom are man-made features or human subjects present, portraying the natural world in a simplified state offering the viewer new perspectives.
Elliot works as a painter using both oil and acrylic mediums, wood carver, picture framer, and art technician.
His works at Gallery Te Puna include original acrylic and oil paintings and wood carving.
